I'm most productive working in a fun and creative environment and am always seeking the best environment to work in. Skill Set: Operating Systems: Linux: (have a server running Ubuntu 9.04, and a desktop running Ubuntu 8.10) OS X: (Macbook running Leopard) Programming Languages: Python - This is the language that I spend most of my time in now. I've been using it for some years now and am pretty comfortable using it. PHP - I know PHP backwards and forwards. Although it is far from my favorite programming language, I know it pretty well and can tell you what I like about 5.3. Perl - Extremely proficient. This was the first "web" language I learned (the first being QBasic). I rarely use it now except for one liners and such. Ruby - I know enough to get around. I've done a couple big projects in ruby. Sed/Awk - I can manage command line one liners. Javascript - I love some parts js. The good parts. Scheme - I know enough to get around. I've never done anything really important in it, but I have read a couple books (The Little Schemer, SICP, The Scheme Programming Language) that use it extensively. C - The basics. I've only done really simple bug fixes and trivial projects. x86 ASM - Even less than C. Most of my ASM knowledge is from using gcc -S while writing a compiler. Web: HTML5 (X)HTML CSS Frameworks: Python - Django(mostly)/Pylons(very little) Ruby - Rails PHP - Codeigniter Javascript - Jquery Databases: MySQL Postgres MS-SQL Server Webservers: apache (mod php, mod wsgi, mod python) Source Control: svn: I'm pretty good with svn. git: cvs: It's been a while but I think I can remember most of it. Work Experience: August 2009 - Present Yahoo! Currently I am a Front End Software Engineer for Yahoo! Music. January 2008 - August 2009 Tridian Inc. A web development firm specializing in Flash development and E-commerce. While working here I have worked on various projects, including a social networking site for non-profits and activists wanting to donate. June 2007 - December 2007 Cyberflow Solutions Interactive A video/audio streaming site. While working here I built many internal tools to hook into the streaming server and provide the company with detailed reports. June 2006 - June 2007 Media Rights Technology A streaming music site that owns both http://bluebeat.com and http://basebeat.com. While there I was the lead developer and responsible for most of the site. It was a good experience as the product itself touched on a lot of different technology stacks. January 1999 - October 2003 Callipso (previously CNM Network) This was the local ISP in my hometown. My very first job was doing technical support for Internet customers. Later I became a Perl developer and the company branched out into a private VOIP network. Here I learned a lot about programming, networking, and telephony. Education: Moorpark College - 2003 - 2005 Gained an associates degree in liberal arts. University of California at Santa Cruz 2005 - 2007 Finished up my higher education with a BA in Philosophy.
